OBITUARY OF NANCY JANE (ELLIOT) QUILLEN
NANCY JANE QUILLEN, daughter of Louise Hamilton and Samuel Elliot, was born on Robinson Creek. She passed from this life at the Whitesburg Hospital, on
January 4, 1969 being 70 years and 18 days of age at her death. Nancy has been in poor health for about a year and a half after having suffered a stroke.
She is a member of the Church of Christ having joined January 1951. She is survived by her husband Joe Quillen of Jackhorn; sons: Bertron Thomas of
Panysville, Ohio; John Samuel of Tiffin, Ohio; Joe Quillen, Jr. of Dallas, Texas; Everett at home; daughter Victora Childers of Jackhorn,
13 grandchildren, 2 .great grandchildren and a large number of relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for NANCY JANE QUILLEN was held at the Residence, Jackhorn, Ky. on Tuesday, January 7, 1969 at 10:00 A.M., E.S.T. Pallbearers:
Friends and Neighbors. Ministers: Bro. Marvin Meade, Robert Hall and Hargis Hall. Burial followed in the Jackhorn Cemetery, Jackhorn, KY.
Banks and Craft Funeral Home of Neon, Ky. in charge of funeral arrangements.
OBITUARY OF JOE QUILLEN
JOE QUILLEN, son of Victoria Tackett and John Quillen, was born on Robinson Creek in Pike County, Ky., July 12, 1895, passed from this life
suddenly January 22, 1969, being 73 years 6 months and 10 days of age at his passing. Joe has been a member of the Hemphill Church of Christ since
1951. He was a retired miner having retired with the Elkhorn Coal Co. Joe was a faithful father and husband, having waited on daughter and wife who
were sick so long. His wife Nancy proceeded him in death the 4th day of this month. He is survived, by the following children: Bert Thomas Quillen of
Paynesville, Ohio; John Samuel of Tiffin, Ohio; Joe Jr., of Dallas, Texas; Everett of Jackhorn and daughter Victoria Childers of Jackhorn; 15
grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, one brother Jim Quillen of Trenton, Mich., sister Nettie Akers of Virgie, Ky., and a host of relatives
and friends.
OBITUARY OF EVERETT QUILLEN
Everett Quillen, son of the late Joseph and Nancy (Elliott) Quillen was born at Virgie, Kentucky on July 4, 1938. He passed from this life suddenly
and unexpectedly enroute to the Berea Hospital in Berea, Kentucky on Wednesday, October 4, 1995 making his stay here on earth 57 years and 3 months.
Everett has made his home in Jackhorn for many years and has been traveling to his brother's home in Mt. Vernon where he would stay for several
weeks at a time.
Everett was preceded in death by his wife Glay's York Beckweth Quillen, sisters, Victoria Childers and Faye Quillen, brothers, Joe Quillen, Jr.,
Guy Forester Quillen, Johnny Quillen and Franky Quillen.
He worked at the Ohio Bronze Co. where he helped to make paint. He worked for them about 16 years until he became disabled.
Everett is survived by daughters: Kim Stewart of Deane, Kentucky.; Treasa Belcher of Thornton, Kentucky; son: Kevin Castle of Deane, Kentucky.;
brother: Burton Quillen of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends to
mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Everett Quillen was conducted from the Banks Funeral Home, Inc., Neon, Kentucky on Sunday, October 8, 1995 at 1:00 p.m.
Pallbearers: Relatives and Friends. Officiating Minister: Estill Hall. Burial will follow In the Hemphill Cemetery, Jackhorn, Kentucky. Arrangements
handled by Banks Funeral Home. Inc. of Neon, Kentucky
