Please note that it is speculation on my part that Housand Harrell is father of Phoebe Harrill. (Also see Gilbert Harrill Notes)

The Harrills came to America from England having lived at Isle of
Guernsey which was in the possession of France in the English Channel. They were French Huguenots...staunch Baptists believing in salvation by faith and settling in Va., North and South Carolina. They established and helped build the Buffalo Baptist Church in York, SC

The NC Census of 1800 shows the name spelled Howsend Harel. There were 3 male children between the ages of 16 and 26, 1 daughter between 10 and 16, 1 daughter between 16 and 26, and Housand and wife were 45+ years old at the time. This is in line with the birth dates from a separate source. There were 2 slaves owned.

The 1800 census shows a John Harel, head of household, he and his wife age 16-26 with one son and one daughter < 10 yrs; and a Samuel Harel 26-45 yrs of age, wife 16-26, with one son and one daughter < 10 yrs.
