James Sergent b 1803 Ireland, s/o Abraham Sergent and Elizabeth Hodges. James Sergent migrated to the US at age 18 year; m. (1) to Judith Judy Farley or McFarland b in Ireland. Children of James Sergent and Judith "Judy" Farley McFarland;
I. Andrew Sergent b 1824; m. Elizabeth Unknown b 1834.
II. Frank Sergent. Frank killed 2 men at different times over his wife.(for what reason, unknown) He kinda ran once, second story unclear. He didn't spend any time in jail for either of these. Unsure if he was even arrested or charged. He became a preacher later in life.
III. Henry "Hell Buck" Sergent b 1821 KY; m. Margaret "Peggy" Wells b 1829. 1860 Wise Co VA Census. Henry's nickname was Hell-Buck because he evidently was short tempered and would not take bull from anyone. Henry Hell-Buck probably wasn't very well liked and was feared by some. I guess he had to be tough in those times, following the Civil War and dealing with carpet baggers, scallywags and riff raff at the time.
