Obituary Alice Slone: The Troublesome Creek Times-Wednesday, December 22, 1999: Slone, Alice - 69, of Marion, Ohio died Dec. 18, 1999, at Marion General Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Family of Love Old Regular Baptist Church, and a resident of Marion for 36 years. She was born April 1, 1930, in Garner, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Winston and Susanna Slone. On April 5, 1956, she married Lindsey Slone in Garner, Ky., he preceded her in death on July 18, 1991 in Marion, Ohio. She is survived by four sons; Kenneth R. (Brenda) Slone, Hershel P. Slone, Ronald D. (Cathy) Slone and Edward G. (Sandra) Slone all of Marion. Four daughters; Avenell (Ron) Gayheart of Cardington, Oh., Betty J. (James} Norris, Bonnie F. (James) Thacker, both of Marion and Donna K. (Paul) Miller of Galion, Oh.; sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were conducted Tursday, Dec. 21, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at the Family of Love Old Regular Baptist Church in Wyanoot, Oh, with Rev. Buddy Carty officiating. She was born April 16, 1945, the daughter of the late Willard and Della Slone Thacker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Wilmer Slone; two brothers: James (Jackie Gayheart) Thacker and Gilford (Debbie Combs) Thacker; one sister: Wilma Dean Slone; 2 grandchildren. She is survived by eight sons: Dirk Slone of Hindman, Kentucky, Rodney (Lisa) Slone of Mousie, Kentucky, Kerney (Kathy) Slone of Hindman, Kentucky, Danny (Marsha) Slone of Hindman, Kentucky, Sammie (Melanie) Slone of Mallie, Kentucky, Gil (Ragin) Slone of Leburn, Kentucky, Paul (Megan) Slone of Hindman, Kentucky and Joshua (Sonya) Slone of Leburn, Kentucky; two daughters: Mardella (Rick) Maronski of Jacksonville, Florida and Susan (Greg) Stacy of Fisty, Kentucky; six brothers: Curby (Melvina) Thacker, Eugene (Sandy) Thacker both of Garner, Kentucky, Levon "Super" (Nadine) Thacker of Wayland, Kentucky, Carson (Brenda) Thacker of Mousie, Kentucky, Phillip (Tammy) Thacker of Garner, Kentucky and Willard Ray (Kristen) Thacker of Leburn, Kentucky; six sisters: Geveda "Veto" (Charles) Jacobs of Hindman, Kentucky, Ouida (Gary) Corburn of Garrett, Kentucky, Arlene (Ronnie) Goble of Pikeville, Kentucky, Roseanna (Freddie) Campbell of Hindman, Kentucky, Vora Lee (Jimmy) Combs of Hindman, Kentucky and Linda (Phillip) Champion of Hindman, Kentucky; 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 25, at 11 a.m., at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home Chapel, Hindman, Kentucky, with Eugene Thacker, Wayne Keene, Bethel Bolen, James Hughes and others officiating.
