singer; he recorded album at Appalshop and also featured on Kentucky Digital
Recordings; he was also involved in demonstrating his technique at many

- Hiram Stamper, 91, of Jeremiah passed away Sunday, May
30, 2010 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Hiram was the son of
the late I.D. and Peggy Collins Stamper. He was the widower of Alta Adams
Stamper. Surviving are 5 daughters: Rachel Fike of Indianapolis, Velma Caudill
of Isom, Shirley Blair of Isom, Patia Bush of Slemp, and Joy Blair of Somerset;
3 sons: Lee Stamper of Somerset, Jackie Stamper of Isom, and Thomas Stamper of
Isom; 1 sister: Mary Banks of Michigan; 15 grandchildren; 23 great
grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren. Funeral: 1:00 O'clock P.M.
Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Earl Combs, Buddy
Collins, and Eli Smith officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the
Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Adams Cemetery at
Jeremiah, Kentucky.
