Essie Mae Boggs buried at Cowan
Funeral services for Essie Mae Boggs, 96, of Cowan, KY, were held October 30, 2008 at Letcher Funeral Home. Burial was in the Boggs family cemetery at Cowan, KY. Mrs. Boggs was a daughter of the late Andy and Ida Miles Sturgill and the widow of Lonzo Boggs. She was the mother of the late Geneva Shepherd and Cleta Boggs. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Sturgill and Bert Sturgill, and five sisters, Martha, Lettie, Hazel, Dovie, and Nora. Surviving are two sons, Cassel Boggs and wife Opal and Kendall Boggs, all of Cowan; a daughter, Meledia Ison, Cowan; 13 grandchildren, 21 greatgrandchildren, and three greatgreat grandchildren.
