IX. Dora Taylor b 1885 Wise Co VA
(adopted daughter) m. 19 Aug 1910 Wise Co VA to John Sims (aka Simms) s/o Felix Sims and Retty
Unknown. Family stories indicates that Dora Taylor was left in a container after
a circus came to town and left. A gentlemen who found her went to get a shovel
to bury her from one of the nearby neighbors and as he was digging, he heard
sounds from the container and found her alive. Wesley Taylor and Martha Combs
adopted her. Dora's marriage to John Sims came to an end when he would not
correct her sons. She went to another place, remarried and found happiness there
with another husband. (Her son went to visit her later in life and found her happy
and doing well with her new husband). Submitted by Lisa Drobot.
