Obituary: Louanna Arnette Adkins
23 Mar 1926 - 6 Sept 2022

Louanna Adkins, age 96, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022 at the Landmark of Elkhorn City. Louanna was born on March 23, 1926 to her parents the late Elliott Arnette and Virgie McCoy Arnette.

She was the wife of the late Creed Adkins, a dietician for Jenkins Community Hospital, and a member of Frank's Creek Freewill Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian with strong faith. She attended Old Regular Baptist Church from time to time through out her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family whom she loved very much. She also loved gardening, farming, and flowers.

Along with her husband and parents, Louanna was preceded in death by one daughter, Patsy Bevins, and one grandson, Eddie Bevins.

Louanna is survived by one daughter, Donna (Michael) Gibson, one son, Doug Adkins, three grandchildren, Melanie (Shad) Baker, Shane Gibson, Emily (Jimmy Wright) Bevins, four great grandchildren, Alyssa, Alexis, Landon, and Kennedy, and a host of loving family and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6p.m. to 9p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.

Church services will be Wednesday at 7p.m.

The funeral will be Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022 at 11 A.M. at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Terry Gibson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Rob Ratliff Cemetery at Elkhorn Creek.


Obituary: Patsy Faye Adkins Bevins

Patsy Faye Bevins, age 71, of Jenkins, KY passed from this life on November 5, 2021. Patsy was born at Shelby Gap, KY on October 11, 1950 to Creed Adkins Jr and Louanna Arnette Adkins.

Patsy was an associate at Walmart in Whitesburg, KY from where she retired. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pound, VA. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, always there to comfort, support, and encourage the ones she loved the most.

She was preceded in death by her father Creed Adkins Jr. Patsy was accompanied into the presence of Jesus by her son, George Eddie Bevins Jr.

Patsy is survived by her mother Louanna Adkins, her sister Donna Gibson (Michael) and her brother Doug Adkins, two daughters Melanie Baker (Shad) and Emily Bevins (Jimmy), three granddaughters Alyssa, Alexis, and Kennedy, and one grandson Landon. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.


Obituary: George Edward Bevins Jr

George Edward Bevins Jr, age 41, of Jenkins, KY passed away from this life on November 5, 2021. He was born on December 22, 1979 in Wise, VA to George Edward Bevins Sr and Patsy Adkins Bevins.

George was a long time associate at Walmart in Whitesburg, KY. He was a sports enthusiast. His favorite team was the New England Patriots. George loved anything with peanut butter or Reese cups. The thing he loved most was his nieces and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Creed Adkins, George W. Bevins, and Carrie Elswick Bevins. George was accompanied into the presence of Jesus by his mother Patsy Faye Bevins.

George is survived by his father George Bevins Sr, two sisters, Melanie Bevins Baker (Shad) and Emily Bevins (Jimmy). He is survived by three nieces and a nephew whom he dearly loved, Alyssa, Alexis, Landon, and Kennedy. He is also survived by his grandmother Louanna Adkins and various aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends to mourn his passing.
