Hiram Amburgey, age 69, of Pinetop, KY, passed away Friday, December 14, 2007 at
his home after a sudden illness. Born in Knott County, Kentucky on February 10,
1938, he was the son of Simeon Amburgey and Mary Cornett Amburgey. He retired
from Corning Glass Company. He was preceded in death by 6 sisters and 2
brothers. He is survived by his wife-Judy Thomas Amburgey; Mother-in-law- Velda
Thomas; 2 Daughters- Pamela Collins of Mississippi and Nancy Jackson of Texas; 1
Sister- Lenora Dyer of Hindman, KY; 4 Brothers- Ivol (Mickey) Amburgey of Vicco,
KY, Marion Donald Amburgey of Louisville, KY, Alvery (Marie) Amburgey of
Louisville, KY and Edgar (Reba) Amburgey of Mallie, KY; 3 Grandchlidren- Shane,
Melody and Josh; Special Great Nephew- Kaiden Dyer; Special Friend- Estill
Adams. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, December 17, 2007 at the
Hindman Funeral Services Chapel. Officiating minister will L.C. Slone. Burial
will follow in the Pigman Cemetery at Pinetop, KY. Visitation wil be held Sunday
evening from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
