1. Nancy Ashley b about 1820 NC m. 1848 to William Johnson b about 1817; s/o Thomas Johnson and Adelphia Carter.

2. William S Ashley b 1825 NC d 1894 Powell Co KY; m. 30 Nov 1845 Ashe Co NC to Christeen Christina Perry b 1825 NC.

3. Franklin "Francis" Ashley b 1829 NC d after 1880; Served Co B 13th Kentucky Cavalry, CSA. Franklin Ashley m. 6 Feb 1847 to Lucinda "Lucy" Tolliver b 1825 NC d after 1910; d/o William Tolliver and Elizabeth Long.

4. Martha Ashley (aka Elizabeth) b 19 Mar 1831 KY d 16 Jun 1918; m. 21 Feb 1850 to William "Med" Smith b 23 Feb 1825 KY d 9 Jan 1891 Smithsboro, Knott Co., KY s/o William Smith and Millie Combs.

5. Mary Ashley b 19 Mar 1831 KY d after 1859 Letcher Co KY; m. about 1850 KY to Alexander Smith b about 1828 d before 1890 Letcher Co KY; s/o William Smith and Millie Combs. Mary Ashley m. William Martin.

6. Jesse Smyth Ashley b 1834 NC; m. 20 Mar 1856 Perry Co KY to Elizabeth Cornett b 1838.

7. Larkin Sheppard Ashley b 1837 NC; served in Company B of the 13th Kentucky Cavalry (CSA) under the command of Colonel Benjamin Everage Caudill, the son of John Adams Caudill and Rachel Cornett. He and 119 others were captured at the Battle of Gladeville, VA, July 7, 1863. According to Colonel Caudill's diary, the enlisted men captured at Gladeville were taken to Camp Chase near Columbus, Ohio, then to Camp Douglas near Chicago, Illinois. Larkin was not heard from again after his capture.

8. Hilliard Jordan Ashley b 1839 NC served in Company B of the 13th Kentucky Cavalry (CSA) under the command of Colonel Benjamin Everage Caudill, the son of John Adams Caudill and Rachel Cornett.
