(1860 Wise Co VA Census). Children of Charles Henderson Banner and Margaret Marie Gibson;

Orderly Sergeant, Company C., 5th. Virginia State Line. Later served in Company A, French's Battalion Virginia Infantry and as Orderly Sergeant in Company B., 7th CSA Cavalry Battalion. Margaret filed for a Confederate Widow's Pension which was granted Nov. 27, 1888. She states he was killed Oct 1 1864 on Indian Creek. He was home on furlough and the US soldiers attempted to capture him but he refused to surrender and was shot and killed by them.
