He is survived by his Wife, Clara May of Mallie, Kentucky; 7 Sons: James Thomas Bentley of Oberlin, Ohio, Cecil Buford Bentley of Kona, Kentucky, Everett Bentley of Carrie, Kentucky, Ralph Bentley of Littcarr, Kentucky; Dillard Bentley of Brinkley, Kentucky, Alexander Bentley, Jr. of Littcarr, KY., Douglas Ray Bentley of Alabama; 7 Daughters: Mary Allie Thompson of Hindman, Kentucky, Lucy Sparkman of Sassafras, Kentucky, Lois Ann Collins of Brinkley, Kentucky, Sue Lavern Slone of Indianapolis, Indiana, Clara Jo Slone, Ethel Watson and Illene Watson all of Alburn, Indiana; 1 Sister, Easter Bentley of Etty, Kentucky; 34 Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who mourn his passing.

A son of the late Alexander Bentley and Clara Mae Fleming Bentley, he was the widower of Pricie Anderson Bentley. He was a brother of the late Mary Thompson, Billie Joyce Perkins, James Bentley, Everette Bentley, Can Martin Bentley, and Alexander Bentley Jr. Surviving him are six sisters, Lucy
Sparkman and Lois Ann Collins, both of Knott County, and Sue Slone, Clara Jo Slone, Ethel Slone and Ilene Slone, all of Indiana; three brothers, Ralph Bentley and Dillard Bentley, both of Knott County, and Douglas Bentley of Alabama; Chloe Wolfe Bentley; and a friend, Shelia Bentley.
