Obituary: Can Monroe Bentley 30 Jun 1939 - 13 Feb 2004
Can M. Bentley Sr., age 64 of North Ridgeville, died Friday, February 13, 2004 at his home following a long illness. He was born June 30, 1939 in Millstone, KY. He had resided in North Ridgeville the past 16 years. He previously lived in Westlake, North Olmsted and Cleveland. He retired in 1992, after 35 years, from Ford Motor Company Brookpark Casting Plant where he was a Group #3 Cleaner. Mr. Bentley was a member of Lorain Avenue Church of Christ, Cleveland, the UAW Local 1250, Past Master Mason with Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Mason # 781, Cleveland and was a member of AA for the past 36 years.
Surviving are his wife, Ernestene (nee Hall); 2 Daughters, Debra "Candy" Garcia, of North Ridgeville, Pamela Stafford of Garner, NC; 2 Sons, Can Bentley Jr. of Williamston, SC and James Bentley of North Ridgeville, four Grandchildren; 3 Sisters, Atha Caudill of Whitesburg, KY, Lettie Totten of Freeburn, KY, Anna Sue Tucker of Millstone, KY; 6 Brothers, Joe Bentley, D.V. Bentley, and Jerry Bentley all of Millstone, KY, Freddie Bentley of Vandalia, Ohio, John V. Bentley, and James Bentley both of Cleveland, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by Parents, Otho Bentley and Nancy Alice Bentley (nee Hall), eight sisters, Stella Sayers, Laura Stallard, Opal Bentley, Cora Mullins, Sabrina Blair, Mary Bentley, Wilma Benge and Nettie Taylor, two brothers, Otho Bentley Jr. and Willie Bentley. The Family will receive friends Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville, OH 44039. Services will be held 3PM Sunday at Lorain Avenue Church of Christ. John Dicus will officiate. Further services will be held at Wares Funeral Home in Cynthiana, Kentucky. Burial will follow in Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana.
