Obituary of Don Bentley

Don Bentley, age 79, of Seco, Kentucky passed from this life on Tuesday-February 21, 2017 at the Greg & Noreen Well’s Hospice Center of Hazard, Kentucky. He was born on November 23, 1937 in McRoberts, Kentucky to the late Noah Bentley and Minerva Collins Bentley. He was a member of the Seco Freewill Baptist Church. Don was also preceded in death by one son, Michael Keith Bentley; two daughters: Belinda Sturgill and Donna Jean Bentley; one brother, Wade Bentley and by one sister, Irene Burns. Mr. Bentley is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Jean Peace Bentley; one daughter: Teresa Ann Bentley McCall of Seco, Kentucky; two brothers: Worley Bentley of Erlanger, Kentucky and LeRoy Bentley of Newport, Kentucky; two sisters: Faye Bentley of Arkansas and Christine Sass of Indiana; nine grandchildren: Tabitha, Jacqueline, Missy, Jessie, Ricky, Melanie, Josh, Alexis and Bub; seventeen great grandchildren; along with a host of other family and many friends to mourn his passing. Visitation will be held at the Carty funeral chapel in Neon on Wednesday-February 22, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel on Thursday-February 23, 2017 at 12:00 Noon; with Pastor Jeff Slone officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine, Kentucky.

my name is adam bentley me and my fiance have started to look just here recently (like the last couple of days) for the history of the bentleys' and where they split and so forth. i have very little information and i mean very little. the only info i have is on my grandfather and grandmother who both died in the little town of MCroberts in letcher co. my grandfathers name was noah bentley and my grandmothers maiden name was minerva collins married bentley. my father worley bentley informed me of very little information he believes my ggrandfather's name as bob bentley and he didn't sound to sure about my grandmothers maiden name being collins. he said it gets confusing cause minerva's mother (unknown) married a robert collins and he either died or divorced and she turned around and married another robert collins. there was 2 noah bentleys' in letcher co. one of seco and the other of mcroberts. neither was any relation but my grandfather died in march of 1985 and my grandmother in january of 1998. i have no info at all so far but i spending most of my waking hours looking online i keep finding death certificates but i can't find no birth certificates online stating parents or anything if you have possibly any info as to some of my past it would be greatly appreciated. thanks adam bentley
