Sarah Martindale

[blankenship1.FTW]

1. "The article I have possibly on Sarah calls her Granny Blankenship and was published in a centennial issue of the Lacon Home Journal. Aug 9 1928 Forrest signs were an open book to her. By C.F. Buck. Granny Blankenship was linked to Indians. She was a short dumpy figure, bearing the age of 90 years jauntily, with dark eyes that snapped when in anger. She was three-quarters Indian and possessed all the superstitions of the aborigines. The signs of the forest were to her like an open book. Her skill in snarling rabbits and quail in figure traps was theenvy of all the boys in the adjoining country. She was the last connecting link between the Indian days and civilization. When the government order came she was exempt because she had married a white man….plus more if you want it I will copy and email to you. I need to know if the death date on Sarah has been verified. My grandmother said she was 12 when she died. After 1899." Geri, <gerilea@nitline.net>
