Obituary of Mary Violet Baker, age 83, of Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on April 11, 2016 at Providence Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on March 28, 1933 in Myra, Kentucky, where she was raised. Mary married Richard Baker and they spent numerous years living around the country and the world, due to his commitments to the United States Military. She later settled down in South Carolina and later moved to Ohio. Mary was a homemaker, who was of the Baptist Faith. She was a daughter of the late Arthur Mullins and Minnie Elkins Mullins. Mary was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Baker and a brother, Thelmer J. Mullins. She is survived by two sons, Richard A. Baker, of Huron, Ohio, and Arthur W. Baker, of Huron, Ohio; three grandchildren, Dustin, Weston and Carl; two sisters, Doris Myers, of Summertown, Tennessee, and Patricia Shirley, of Conyers, Georgia; and a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday April 16, 2016 from 6:00-9:00 PM at Carty Funeral Homes Polly & Craft Chapel, Jenkins, Kentucky. Graveside services will be held on Sunday April 17, 2016 at 12:00 PM at Jenkins-Payne Gap Cemetery, Payne Gap, Kentucky. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
