Leroy Shumway Franklin Leroy was native to Letcher County, Ky., and the Whitesburg, Ky. area. He lived most of his life in that general vicinity. He was a carpenter and builder by trade. He worked with his father, “Wilse” Franklin, and brother, Andrew Franklin, while they were building the Whitesburg High School-circa 1914-1916. He was a quiet and gentle man who was devoted to his brothers and sisters, as well as to his immediate family. Children of Leroy Shumway Franklin and Rhoda Franklin;
