Sarah Howard Kelly is my twice great grandmother also and she andherhusband, James Kelly are buried in Green Bay Cemetary in Clark Co,nearOsceola, Iowa. I am specifically referring to Sarah Howard Kelly, wife ofJames Kelly. Their daughter, Franz Jeannette Kelly was mygreatgrandmother. She married Allen Wilson. Their daughter, SarahJessie, mother of my father Clifton Redman, and I am Phyllis RedmanBierbaum. Ihave all those Redmans that listed as just living. If youwant me to, Ican give you a complete listing of all the descendents ofSarah'sdaughter Franz Jeannette. I have a picture of James/SarahKelly, andhave the Howards back to Virginia.

NOTE: Based on the original death date of 1830 I have recorded forthisSarah Jane Howard, this may not be the same Sarah Howard whomarriedJames Kelly referred to by Phyllis Bierbaum. See also hersister Rachel, who marries a James Brown Kelley, and has thedescendants noted above. Imay simply have an error here and have thewrong sister married to JamesKelly.

In response to the above Phyllis stated: My great=grandmother isRachelKelly, wife of James Kelly, buried in Green Bay Cemetary - mynormale-mail is PBier30930@aol.com - but didn't want to confuse youwith SarahJane and Rachel - but they were both Howards? PhyllisBierbaum

Susan F Inlow

Source: Carol [mailto:romanbryant@embarqmail.com]
Sent: Sunday, August 10, 2008 9:26 AM

I am researching my family's ancestors and discovered that we havea"Jessee" link through a paternal grandmother. Her name was MaudeTiptonand she was born 1888 in Montgomery Co., Indiana.

I found that she was married to George Guy Feather June 14 1906.Hermarriage license shows her father as William Tipton and her motherasSusan F Inlow.

I believe that after Susan F Inlow's first husband, Isaac W. Inlowdiedin 1883 ( not 1893 as typically published across the web)confirmed byCrawfordsville Public Library (go to Local History thenCemeteries ofMontgomery County and type in Jessee. After Isaac WInlow died, hiswidow married William Tipton and together they had adaughter MaudeTipton. Therefore, Gertie (Gertrude), Fred and HarryWilson Jessee werehalf-siblings to Maude Tipton and they probablyresided together.

I am relatively new to the genealogical research field and by no meansamI being critical of efforts preceeding mine. My only intent is toclearup this misinformation as I find that it is being compounded byothersassuming its accuracy as I have found many other websites thathaverepublished the error showing Isaac W Jessee as Maude Tipton'sfather(calling her by the name Maude Tipton Jessee) when that isclearly notthe case. I truly do not know whom the first publisher wasbut Rootswebis a major resource. Hopefully you can help.

The errors that I have noted are as follows:
1. Maude Tipton never had the last name of Jessee. Her mother whowasSusan F Inlow (daughter of John and Rebecca Inlow) married herfather,William A Tipton. Attached are copies of both marriage licenseswhichconfirm these facts. Also I am not finding evidence that WilliamA Tiptonwas ever known as Wilson. (Ancestry 1900 census for Walnut,Montgomery,Indiana show William N Tipton age 54 with Maud Tipton age12) I believethe middle initial N is a transcription error.
2. Isaac W Jessee died in 1883 ( I am not exactly sure of the date)butit could not have been 1893. (His widow remarried prior to that in1886)Attached are the scans I made from the Crawfordsville PublicLibrarywebsite and the link is:<http://www.cdpl.lib.in.us/index.html>. Thenclick on local history, find Cemeteries of Montgomery County, then typein Jessee to get theview that I am attaching.
3. The child of Maude Tipton named Harry is actually HarryTiptonFeather. Harry Tipton Feather was my xhusband's father.
4. The child of Harry Tipton Feather and Ruby Craig is not JeanFeatheras noted in your chart. The one and only child of this marriagewas myXhusband who is still living and his name is Harry EugeneFeather. HarryEugene Feather and I (Carol Jean Beighey) were marriedJune 1968,divorced 1975, had 2 children together, Brian Eugene Feather(1970) andKevin Eugene Feather 1972. Brian's children are thegrandchildren thatlive with me.
Of particular interest to you may be a photo that I have whichshowsMaude Feather with her half brother Fred Jessee. It was taken in1954most probably in New Ross, Indiana. I am attaching for you.Actuallythere are two different pictures taken the same time butslightlydifferent shots. Both are noted on the back in my handwritingwhich Irecognize from my early marriage years. One is noted: GrandmaFeather &Uncle Fred. The other is noted: Grandma Feather Uncle FredJessee.
Please advise if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks, Carol Roman
