Obituary of John Kiser

John Kiser Sr.: John Kiser Sr. of Colson, Kentucky passed from this life on Monday September 24, 1956 after an illness of three weeks. He was the son of the late Elihu and Clarenca Hall Kiser and was born on November 3, 1866 being 89 years, 10 months and 21 days of age at his death. His wife Seila Profitt proceeded him in death in 1918, for the past few years he made his home with his niece, Mrs. Bennie Craft of Colson, Kentucky and his sister Mrs. Dicy Taylor who proceded him in death in August 1956. He is survived by two sons Emmitt Kiser of Colson, Kentucky and Strauther Kiser of Baltimore, Maryland and three daughters, Mrs. Stella Webb and Mrs. Ida Zetts of West Virginia and Mrs. Edna Shepherd of Whitesburg, Kentucky. One brother Noah Kiser of Haymond, Kentucky and Mrs. Elva Taylor of Whitesburg. Funeral services were held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Craft of Colson, Kentucky on Wednesday September 26th, 1956 at 10:00 A.M. O'clock C. S. T. with Revs. Bob Sexton Lloyd Pike And others officiating. Burial took place in the Colson Cemetery, Colson, Kentucky. Craft Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements.
