542. Maybelle Addington

Known as "Mother Maybelle" Carter, she was one of the original Carter family members who have been well known for their country music. She was famous for her guitar playing style.

661. Helen Myrl Carter

She sang with her sisters, known as the Carter Sisters. She and Glenn had four children: Glenn Daniel, Kenneth Burton, David Lawrence and Kevin.

662. Valeria June Carter

The most famous of the Carter Sisters, known as June Carter. She first married a popular country music artist,CARL MILTON SMITH in July of 1952 and they had one daughter, Rebecca Carlene Smith. She married second to EDWIN LEE NIX in 1957 and had a daughter, Rosanna Lee Nix. She married third on March 1, 1968 to JOHN R. CASH who is well known in the country music field. Some of his records were "Folsom Prison Blues", "Ring of Fire", "I'll Walk the Line." They had one son, John Carter Cash. Daughters Carlene and Rosanna have also performed country music.

Lula Belle Albright

She was the daughter of George and Katherine Albright.

569. Charlie F. Allen

Obituary - The Post, Big Stone Gap, VA - September 29, 1999:
Charlie F. Allen, 81, of Big Stone Gap died Sunday (Sept. 26, 1999) at Ridgecrest Manor Nursing Home in Duffield. Mr. Allen was born in Lee County, and had lived most of his life in Big Stone Gap. He was a retired coal miner with the Westmoreland Coal Co., with over 37 years of service and a member of the United Mine Workers of America District No. 28, Local No. 7276. He was a member of the Big Stone Gap Presbyterian Church. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Odie F. and Maudie McConnell Allen; three brothers, Clifford Allen, Ramey Allen, and Roosevelt Allen; and one sister, Hattie Bledsoe. Survivors include his wife, Geneva Allen; son and daughter-in-law Billy and Judy Allen of Gray, Tenn.; daughters and sons-in-law Barbara and Bill Hughes and Sandra and Bill Rich, all of Big Stone Gap; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother Eugene Allen of Jonesville; sister, Eunice Robinette of Jonesville; and several nieces and nephews; step-mother, Maude Allen, Jonesville; step-brother Buford Hines; step-sister, Patty Cox, Jonesville.

572. Ramey Lee Allen

Obituary - The Post, Big Stone Gap, VA, March 2, 1994:
Ramey Lee Allen, 69 of Jonesville, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Claiborne County Hospital, Tazewell, TN. He was a retired painter and was a World War II veteran of the Navy. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Glass. Surviving are two sons, Walter Allen, Powhatan, Bradley D. Allen, Powhatan; six grandchildren; three brothers, Charlie Allen, Big Stone Gap, Eugene Allen and Roosevelt Allen, both of Joneswville; one sister, Eunice Robinette, Blackwater.

577. Charles Robert "Charlie" Rutledge

He died from a heart attack.
