590. William "Bill" Seabolt

Served in the U. S. Army (42nd Rainbow Division) in Europe during World War II. After his discharge, he worked as a prison guard in Lorton, VA until he retired. Played guitar and mandolin and sang bluegrass music. After his retirement he made musical instruments. Enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and bluegrass music.

Bill fought several battles with cancer. First he had a liposarcoma, then thyroid cancer twice, prostate cancer, and finally cancer of the pancreas took his life.

William "Bill" Seabolt, age 78, of Powhatan and a 43 year resident of Lorton, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on December 19, 2003. Bill is survived by his devoted, loving family: Wife, Catherine Seabolt; daughter, Jane S. Gienger and her husband, Chuck of Midlothian; son Charles William "Chuck Seabolt of Stafford; four grandchildren, Billy and Kristina Gienger and Charlie and Casey Seabolt. Bill continuously demonstrated acts of kindness, strength, love and compassion to his family and friends. God blessed him with a good life and those who knew Bill were also richly touched. Bill was a member of Cranford United Methodist Church, Veteran of W. W. II with the 42nd Rainbow Division, Disabled American Veterans, lifelong Honorary Member of the Ruritan and many other civic organizations over the years. He is gone, never to be forgotten and at peace with GOD. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, Dec. 29 at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 13318 Occoquan Road, Woodbridge where funeral services will begin at noon. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery.

591. Cecil Edward Seabolt

Served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Worked in the coal mines for a short time after discharge and then moved to Manassas, VA where he worked as a prison guard until retirement. Enjoyed construction, woodworking, and bluegrass music.

Died from cancer. He first had cancer of the kidney and then lung cancer.


Wilma Jean Kirk

Wilma Jean Seabolt, 77, died Jan. 23, 2006 at the Annaburg Manor. Born Oct. 29, 1928, in Osaka, she was the daughter William E. and Thelma Johnson Kirk. On Dec. 16, 1948, in Harlan, Ky., she married Cecil E. Seabolt, who preceded her in death on April 19, 1983. Mrs. Seabolt has been a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church since 1956. She also worked at Sears for over nine years as a part-time associate in the lady's wear department. Besides her husband, Wilma was preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Kirk. She is survived by two sons, Ricky Seabolt of Manassas, Kenneth "Randy" Seabolt and his wife Christine of Manassas, Lan Bach, of Manassas, who she adopted as a son; three brothers, Jimmy Kirk and his wife Mattie of Maryland, George Kirk and his wife Maggie of Orlando, Fla., Dannie Kirk and his wife Evelyn of Kingsport, Tenn.; one sister, Linda Tennyson and her husband Chet of Fredericksburg; two grandchildren, Randy Seabolt Jr. and his wife Marisol of Crestview, Fla., Michelle Knox and her husband Shane of Manassas; and two great-grandchildren, Jesse and Kiana Seabolt. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Baker Funeral Home, 9320 West St., Manassas. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Hansen officiating. Interment will take place at Stonewall Memory Gardens. 752. Ricky Lynn Seabolt

Ricky Lynn Seabolt, age 54, of Manassas, died June 11th, 2009 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 15th, 1955 in Warrenton, Va., he was the son of the late Cecil and Wilma Kirk Seabolt.
Mr. Seabolt was the Director of Information Service at Radius Travel for over 10 years. He was preceded in death by parents. Survivors include his life partner, Lan Bach of Manassas; one brother, Randy Seabolt and his wife, Christine of Longs, S.C.; nieces and nephews, Shane Knox, Michelle Knox, Rielyn Elizabeth Knox, Kenneth Randy Seabolt Jr., Marisol Seabolt, Jesse Seabolt, and Kiana Seabolt.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 15th, 2009 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Rd., Manassas. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Shane Kirk, cousin of Ricky and the Rev. M. Michelle Fincher officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, Va.

Elizabeth Ann Cody (October 25, 1929 - August 11, 2009)
Elizabeth Ann Fitts Cody, 79, of Jonesville, Virginia, passed away Monday (August 10, 2009) at the Wellmont Lee Regional Medical Center in Pennington Gap, Virginia.
A lifelong resident of Lee County, Virginia, she was a member of Millers Chapel United Methodist Church and an Avon representative. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Jonesville, Virginia, D.A.V. Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and Mountain Empire Older Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen B. Cody; her parents, John and Mary Fitts; three sisters; and one brother.
Surviving are: Four sons: Bill Cody and wife, Judy of Jonesville, Virginia; Melvin Cody of Jonesville, Virginia; Larry Cody and wife, Debbra of Jonesville, Virginia; and Robert Cody of Jonesville, Virginia Two daughters: Norma Mullins and husband, Bill of Jonesville, Virginia and Wanda Nelson and husband, Rick of Dryden, Virginia; Ten grandchildren Four great-grandchildren One brother: Jack Fitts of West Virginia; Three sisters: Vivian Moore of Blackwater, Virginia; Gladys Cody of Jonesville, Virginia; and Louise Several nieces and nephews The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Jonesville, Virginia. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Eugene Allen officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Millers Chapel Cemetery in Jonesville, Virginia. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. to go to the cemetery in procession.
