Obituary - Arney-Mullins Funeral Home of Jonesville, VA

Jonesville, VA -- Reba Carol Allen, 51 of Jonesville, VA, passed away Sunday (Dec. 18, 2011) at Holston Valley Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Lee County, VA, she was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and was retired from the Lee County Health Department after 30 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Roosevelt (Rosie) Allen. Surviving are her husband, David Allen of Jonesville, VA; her parents, Kemp and Elinor (Wearstler) Bacon of Jonesville, VA; two daughters, Rachel Cole and husband, Adam of Jonesborough and Rebecca Maggard and husband, Berry of Jonesville, VA; two sisters, Terry Tensley and husband, Jackie and Gail Waddell and husband, Roger, all of Jonesville, VA; her mother-in-law, Louise Allen of Jonesville, VA; sister-in-law, Dena Kilgore of Bristol, VA.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Jonesville, VA. Funeral serices will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bryan Gunter officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Millers Chapel Cemetery in Jonesville, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 631 Texas Dr., Jonesville, VA 24263 or to Millers Chapel Cemetery, c/o Arline Hall, 363 Sugar Run Rd., Jonesville, VA 24263

He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force.


743. Delores Ann Markland

Delores was employed in the Institutional Advancement Office at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion. Her favorite pastimes were sewing, crafts, gardening and being with her children and grandchildren. After a one and one-half year fight with liver cancer, she died at her home at 9:22 a.m. on August 18, 1998.


Philip A. Hartman

Phil was the son of August and Hazel Hartman. He was a retired sheet metal worker and died from a heart attack after years of heart disease.
