Joda Mae Potter. OCALA, Fla. Joda Mae Potter, age 87, of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Tuscaloosa, died April 4, 2012, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, is in charge of arrangements. She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Potter; her father, Joda Bowens; her mother and stepfather, Ruby and Edwin Taylor; her sister, Novella; and her brother, Emitt.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Moorman (James); her sons, Perry Potter (Belinda), Roger Potter (Janice), and Clabe Potter (Wanda); her sisters, Magdalen, Lillian, Glemma, Lula, Donna, and Cecilia; her brothers, Jack and Charles; her granddaughters, Angela, Staci, Tammy, Michelle, and Nicole; her grandsons, Anthony, Craig, Perry, and Roger; her great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn Brook, Madison Ann, Kylie, Samantha, and Paige; and her great-grandsons, Jacob, Anthony, Dawson Clay, Perry, Braedon, Justin, Austin, Johnathan, and Noah.

Joda Mae Potter was born February 26, 1925, in Letcher, Ky. She married Perry Potter on May 30th. She and Perry had four children, Linda, Perry Williard, Roger, and Clabe. She and Perry retired in Vance. She enjoyed attending the Church of Christ wherever she resided. She was proud that at the age of 65 she decided to learn how to drive and be a more independent woman. Doing so enabled her to attend meetings at the Vance Civic Center with the Senior Citizens, where she became president for a few years. She enjoyed doing various charity events as well. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also a sister in Christ who loved the Lord.
