Amburgey rites set. Manuel L Amburgey, 70, of Roxana (KY), died Tuesday (6 Apr 1965) at Harlan Appalachian Hospital, (Harlan KY). He was born in Knott County (KY) and was a son of Benjamin Franklin Amburgey and Molly Collins Amburgey. He was a retired farmer and miner. He had been a member of the Regular Baptist Church since 1950. He was married to Laura Crase in 1915.
Survivors are five daughters, Berniece Adams, Roxana; Flo Hall, Ermine; Orpha Bryant and Cletha Caudill, both of Premium, and Sally Fay Hampton, Louisville; five sons, Neweroll Amburgey, Louisville; Teddy Dean Amburgey, Roxana; Owen Amburgey, Illinois; B. F. Amburgey, Letcher, and Willie Amburgey, Premium; three brothers, Martin Amburgey and Hiram Amburgey, both of Harlan, and Leonard Amburgey, Washington;
four sisters, Alta Fugate and Della Butler, both of Perry County; Arizona Jarvis, West Virginia, and Maudie Blanton, Cincinnati; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the residence by Roy Whitaker, Bee Whitaker, Alva Caudill and others. Burial will be in Mill Branch cemetery. Moore and Craft Funeral Home has charge of funeral arrangements.
