Macie Cable Potter Burke age 89 passed away Monday June 1, 2009 at the Royal Manor Nursing Home in Nicholasville, Ky. Macie was born on May 10th, 1920 to her parents the late Kale Cable and Mary Estep. She was the wife of the late Oval Burke, a homemaker, and a member of Old Elkhorn Regular Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Macie was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Potter, one son, Kenneth Potter, and several brothers and sisters. Macie is survived by one daughter, Billie (Jerry) Wright of Nicholasville, Ky., five sons, Hubert (Wanda) Potter of Dorton, Jesse (Liz) Potter of Indiana, Lloyd (Margaret) Potter of Dorton, Ky., Bobby (Reeda) Potter of Payne Gap, Creed (Alicia) Potter of Lexington, Ky., two brothers, Bob Cable of Dorton, Bill Cable of Clintwood, Va., one sister, Dorothy Smallwood of Michigan, sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday 6-5-2009 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. The burial will follow in the Newsome Cemetery at Three Mile.
