Obituary: CRAB ORCHARD - Sophia Day Coots, 83, of Crab Orchard, died Saturday at her home. Born April 14, 1922, in Leslie County, she was the daughter of the late Monroe and Melinda Lewis. She was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church. She was the widow of Bige Coots. Survivors include three sons, Homer Coots of Danville, Michael Coots of Dayton, Ohio, and Pat Coots of Crab Orchard; two daughters, Jackie Brock of Villa Rica, Ga., and Hazel Saylor of Crab Orchard; four brothers, Lloyd Day of Xenia, Ohio, Dexter and Paul Day, both of Hyden, and Ernest Day of Lancaster; three sisters, Myrtle Fouts and Annie Hensley, both of Hyden, and Lillian Joseph of Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Bige Coots Jr. Arrangements are incomplete at McKnight Funeral Home. Burial will be in Coots Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J.R. Brock, Jeffrey Strickland, Larry Phillips, Bill Mullins, Phillip Coots and Stanley Saylor. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday. Memorials may go to Beech Grove Baptist Church, P.O.
