Larry Chandis Chan Fleming, age 60, of Jackhorn, Kentucky, passed away Sunday June 17, 2012. He was born on October 29, 1951 at Neon, Kentucky, and was a lifelong resident of the Neon area.
Chan was a disabled coal miner, and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
He enjoyed spending his time four wheeling in the woods, riding horses, hunting, operating his rollback truck, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Lonesome Pine Masonic Lodge #887 and the Mountain Shrine Club. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sol Fleming, and a brother, Ricky Fleming.
Survivors include his wife, Starla Jackson Fleming, Jackhorn, Kentucky; two daughters, Chandala (Markus) Richardson, Neon, Tomeka (Richard) Brashear, Jackhorn, Kentucky; two sons, Brandon (Jeannie) Fleming and Jody (Scott) Fleming, all of Jackhorn, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Channing, Cameron, Hunter, Hayden and Holden; his mother, Deloris Johnson Fleming, Jackhorn, Kentucky; a brother, Gary (Vanessa) Fleming, Corbin, Kentucky; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Tuesday June 19, 2012, at the Neon Church of Christ, where funeral services will be held on Thursday June 21, 2012, at 1:00 PM. Interment with Masonic rites will follow at the Silas Johnson Cemetery. Carty Funeral Home of Neon, Kentucky, caring for funeral arrangements.
