Obituary: Dr. Arnold Frazier
17 Oct 1943 - 1 Jun 2021

Dr. Arnold Frazier
Dr. Arnold Frazier October 17, 1943 - June 1, 2021. Cornelius, North Carolina - Arnold R. Frazier, MD passed away June 1, 2021 at the age of 77. Dr. Frazier lived a vibrant life filled with travel, hard work, wine, and his Kentucky Wildcats basketball team.

He enjoyed good jokes and good music, particularly country and bluegrass, and read multiple newspapers daily. Above all else, Dr. Frazier valued his faith, church, and family. He loved skiing with his wife and sons (both water and snow), jet skiing, attending his sons' sporting events, and family dinners, where he always shared delicious wine discoveries.

He doted on his four granddaughters, donning hats for tea-parties, boating with them on Lake Norman, creating silly characters and stories, swimming and shelling in Sanibel, Florida, and creating Christmas traditions. His energy, devotion to family, huge heart, sage advice, and "Arnoldisms" will be greatly missed.

He was born October 17, 1943, in Hotspot, Kentucky to James and Viola Frazier, the fifth of six children.

Dr. Frazier attended Berea College, where he met his wife, Dyanne, graduating in 1965. Dr. Frazier graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, completed his residency at Ochner Clinic, and further trained at the Carolinas Medical Center and the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education.

Dr. Frazier was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, a fellow of the American College of Physicians, and a member of the Mecklenburg Medical Society.

Dr. Frazier practiced medicine for almost 40 years, beginning at the Nalle Clinic and then the Carolinas Medical Center. An avid and life-long learner and excellent teacher, Dr. Frazier relished in caring for his patients, training residents and investing in his and their professional development.

Dr. Frazier is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Dyanne, his sons Jamie, Brian, and Jonathan (CDR USNR), his daughters-in-law Cindy and Kelly, his granddaughters Sophie, Charlotte, Holden and Bridget, his brother Charles, sisters Shannon and Linda, sister-in-law Barbara, brother-in-law Jim, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 5 11:00 AM at Davidson United Methodist Church. Visitation will follow.
