Obituary: Wilma Dean Ransom Johnson 21 Jun 1916 - 24 Jan 1995
Wilma Dean Johnson, daughter of the late Harry and Pearl Brazell Ransom, was born at Mont Lake, Tennessee on Jun 21, 1916. She died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 24, 1995, making her seventy-eight years, seven months and three days of age at the time of her death. Wilma had been in poor health for the past several years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis "Gad" Johnson on December 21, 1991, and by a brother, Carl Ransom. Survivors include daughters: Carol Lee Hall; Yvonne Bentley and Tara Phillips, all of Jackhorn (Letcher Co KY); sons: Harry Johnson of Nicholasville, Kentucky; John L Johnson of Georgetown, Kentucky; brothers; Granville Ransom of Framingham, Massachusetts; Herman Ransom and Paul Ransom, both of Jenkins; thirteen grandchildre; twelve great grandchildren; twelve great grand-children and many other relatives and friends. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ since 1941. Funeral services for Wilma Dean Johnson were conducted from the Chapel of the Banks Funeral Home in Fleming-Neon, Kentucky on Friday, January 27, 1995 at 2 p.m. The officiating ministers were Bennie Blankenship, Gaddy Wayne Hall and Delmar Isaac, while family members and friends served as pallbearers. Burial took place in the Gad Johnson Cemetery, at Jackhorn, Kentucky.
