Obituary of John H Kelly
Birth: Apr. 10, 1934 - Death: Dec. 1, 2009

John H. Kelly, 75, of Madison, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky. He was born April 10, 1934, in Syracuse, Ohio, the son of Charles and Gratus Smith Kelly. He was a graduate of Wahama High School in Mason, W. Va. He moved to Madison in 1955 and worked at the Indiana-Kentucky Electric Corporation for five years. He was a 1969 graduate of Purdue University with a bachelors degree in education. He taught in several area schools and served as a coach for basketball, baseball and football. He retired in 1997 from the Dow Corning Corporation in Carrollton, Ky. after 20 years of service. He attended North Madison Baptist Church and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose 765. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling and all sports activities. He is survived by his wife, Anna K. Bennett Kelly, whom he married, March 29, 1957; one son, Timothy P. Kelly of Lexington; one sister, Gloria Johnson of Madison; one brother, Gerald Kelly of Pomeroy, Ohio; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Opal Bostick and Maxine Aldridge; two brothers, Hugh Park Kelly and Charles "Chuck" Kelly; and one nephew. The funeral was at Vail-Holt Funeral Homes Hilltop Chapel. Burial was in Springdale Cemetery. Madison Courier 12/3/09
