More About Warren Kiser

Warren Kiser died from injuries received when he was thrown from a frightened horse. On November 19, 1924, Rachel Kiser Kiser (d/o Ephriam Kiser and Polly Sutherland Kiser) stated "Warren Kiser is buried on a cliff on the south bank of the Clinch River, just above Carbo, along with Uncle Nimrod Kiser and my brothers, Ephriam and Elijah. No tombstones have ever been erected there. Warren Kiser was Uncle Joe Kiser's boy. He married my cousin, Betsy Sutherland, daughter of Daniel and Phoebe (Fuller) Sutherland. They lived at the Shirley place, where his son-in-law Elijah LaForce now (1924) lives. One day he was watering his young mare. A fice ( small dog) was after a rabbit and suddenly chased it under the mare which frightened her and caused her to run away. She ran down a hill to a pair of bars where she suddenly stopped, throwing Warren off and breaking his neck. His wife remained single and lived there the rest of her life.
