Obituary: Zade Mullins

Zade Mullins, 78 years of age of Lick Fork of Beefhide passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at his residence. He was born February 24, 1938 in Pike County to the late Tandy Mullins and Eliza Jane Caudill Mullins.

Zade was a retired coal miner.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers; Smith Mullins, Chester Mullins, Vester Mullins, Matthew Mullins, Boyd Mullins, Astor Mullins, one sister; Maxie Burke.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years; Helen Baughman Mullins; one son; Randy (Peggy) Mullins of Bluefield, WV., one daughter; Eva (Robert) Kiser of Elkhorn City, one brother; Earl Mullins of Dorton, three sisters; Lexie Jones of Dayton, OH., Bessie Tackett of Elwood, Dixie Wooten of Florida, five grandchildren; Bethanie Kiser, Blake Kiser, Dakota Mullins, Jacob Mullins, Sky Mullins, one step granddaughter; D.J. Mann-Powell.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:00 PM at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home with Danny Belcher, Jerry Damron and others officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sowards Cemetery at Lick Fork.

Visitation will be at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Saturday with services Saturday night beginning at 7:00 PM, online condolences may be expressed at hallandjones.com


Obituary: Chester Mullins

Chester Mullins, 91, of Virgie, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at his home. He was born in Pike County, Jan. 5, 1923, the son of the late Tandy and Eliza Jane Caudill Mullins.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and received a Purple Heart while serving during World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Fronie Tackett Mullins; one son Thurman Mullins of Abingdon, Va.; five daughters, Irene Wright, Patricia Burke and Ramona Roberts, all of Lick Fork, Shelia Mullins of Round Lake, Ill., and Cynthia Frank of Mason, Ohio; two brothers, Earl Mullins of Dorton and Zade Mullins of Lick Fork; three sisters, Lexie Jones of Dayton, Ohio, Bessie Tackett of Elwood and Dixie Mae Wooten of Florida; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6, in the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church, Beefhide, with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating.

Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery, East Shelbiana. Arrangements are under direction of Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. Tuesday, with services at 7 p.m.
