James M. Newsome of Morgantown, Kentucky formerly of Letcher County passed away Friday, August 28, 2009 at his residence. He was 80.
He was the son of the late Hart and Mary Bentley Newsome, born August 5, 1929.
Mr. Newsome was the widower of Mable Morton Newsome and was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Newsome.
Surviving are three sons, Allen Newsome of Morgantown, Gary Newsome of Louisville, and Jeff Newsome of Louisville; two daughters, Loretta Bellen and Kathleen Newsome, both of Louisville; 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for James M. Newsome were held Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Smith officiating.
A concluding service followed at the Newsome Cemetery at Neon (Letcher Co KY).
Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg was in charge of arrangements.

Mabel Morton Newsome was the daughter of the late Leonard & Loretta Adams Morton and was born in Letcher County, Ky. She was Survied by her Husband James Newsome of Neon, Ky also surviving where her Two daughter's Loretta Newsome, kathleen Newsome of Louisville, Ky and her four son's Allen Franklin Newsome of Morgantown, ky, Gary Newsome, Jeffery Leonard Newsome and Mark Scott Newsome of Louisville, Ky and 11 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
