Mrs. Corrine Combs born September 11, 1935 departed this life on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the Hazard ARH being 74 years, 4 months, and 17 days of age at the time of her passing. Corrine was born in Acup, the daughter of the late Lonnie Smith and the late Verna Combs Smith. Corrine was a life long resident of Perry County and was a member of the Whitesburg Holiness Church. Corrine enjoyed gospel music, gardening and taking care of her grandchildren. Corrine was preceded in deathby her husband, Perry Combs, Jr., one daughter, Sandra Kay Brashear, one grandson, Jason Lee Brashear, one brother, Corbett Smith and two sisters, June Slone and Mallie Combs.
Mrs. Corrine Combs leaves the folowing relatives surviving; five sons; Perry Combs, Jr. III of Happy, KY; Gary Combs and wife, Jill of Happy, KY; Dany Combs and wife Michell of Happy, KY; Timothy Combs of Upper Second Creek, and Anthony Combs of Happy, KY; five daughters; Christine Maddox and husband, Roy of Beaver Dam KY; Patricia Ashburn and husband, Ronnie of Beaver Dam, KY; Lisa Stacy and husband, John of Hazard, KY; Pamela Hughes and husband Paul Ray of Hazard, KY; Shelly Boggs and husband Waye of Jeff, KY; four brothers; Bill Smith of Hazard, KY; Lonnie Smith, Jr. of Jackson Co KY; Charles Ed Smith of Breathitt Co KY; Eli Smith of Knott Co KY; three sisters; Wilma Jean Roberts of Dayton, Ohio; Betty Lou Slone of Dayton, Ohio and Maude Jones of Stanton, KY; 23 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Corrine Combs will be conducted on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at 1:00 P>M> at the Engle Walker Funeral Home on East Main Street in Hazard, Kentucky with Rev. Duane Allen and Rev. Larry Caudill officiating, the burial will follow in the Perry Combs Cemetery, located at Acup, Ky. The visitation will be at the Engle Walker Funeral Home on East Main Street on Staurday evening from 6:00 till 9:00 P.M.
