CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA - Roger Clarence Banner, 60, died Monday, July 25, 2011 in Savannah, Georgia.
He was born in Abingdon, Virginia; son of the late William Clarence Banner. He was a self-employed truck drive and a graduate of Castlewood High School.
He is survived by two daughters, Celeste Banner of Kingsport, Tennessee and Brianna Russell of Bristol, Tennessee; one son, Matthew Banner of Newport, Tennessee; mother, Nell Banner of Castlewood, Virginia: one sister, Linda Salyer of Blountville, Tennessee; two brothers, Bill Banner of Blountville, Tennessee and Bob Banner and wife, Marsha of Castlewood, Virginia; one grandchild, McKenzie Banner of Newport, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Roger Clarence Banner will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Harry Layell officiating. Committal Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2011 in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.

CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA - Nell Banner, 84, died Saturday, November 15, 2014 at her home.
She was born in Wise County, Virginia; daughter of the late Bob and Gladys Jones Trent. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clarence Banner; two sons, Thomas Darryl Banner and Roger Banner; and one brother, Jim Trent. She retired from Castlewood High School and Elementary School as Food Service Manager. She attended Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Salyer of Blountville, Tennessee; two sons, Bill Banner, and Bob Banner and wife, Marsha of Castlewood, Virginia; three sisters, June Valade of Wyandotte, Michigan, Loretta Trent of Greenville, North Carolina, and Pauline Wynegar of Charlotte, North Carolina; two brothers, Claude Trent of High Point, North Carolina, and Raymond Trent and wife, Amelia of Saint Paul, Virginia; five special friends, Denise Castle, Renee Kilbourne, Faith Gibson, Venice Blevins, and Hazel Johnson; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Nell Banner will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2014, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Leonard Ferguson officiating. Committal Services and Interment will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
