She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clarence Banner; two sons, Thomas Darryl Banner and Roger Banner; and one brother, Jim Trent. She retired from Castlewood High School and Elementary School as Food Service Manager. She attended Calvary Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Salyer of Blountville, Tennessee; two sons, Bill Banner, and Bob Banner and wife, Marsha of Castlewood, Virginia; three sisters, June Valade of Wyandotte, Michigan, Loretta Trent of Greenville, North Carolina, and Pauline Wynegar of Charlotte, North Carolina; two brothers, Claude Trent of High Point, North Carolina, and Raymond Trent and wife, Amelia of Saint Paul, Virginia; five special friends, Denise Castle, Renee Kilbourne, Faith Gibson, Venice Blevins, and Hazel Johnson; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
