Obituary: James Franklin Belcher 1935 - 31 Dec 2015
Reidsville: James Franklin Belcher Sr, 80, Passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at his home. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Covington Memorial Wesleyan Church with Rev. Ralph Clayton and Rev. A.C. Palmer officiating. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service from 2-3 PM at the church. James was born in Elkhorn City, Kentucky, and was a veteran of the US Army; and retired as an architectural draftsman. He attended Covington Memorial Wesleyan Church and enjoyed Bluegrass dancing. Jim lived in Reidsville but his heart was in the mountains. He was preceded in death by his cherished mother, Tina Gertrude Belcher Williams, and his father, Frank Stewart. Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Evelyn; son, James Belcher, Jr. and wife, Sonya; the love of his life, grandchildren, Eliora Belcher and A. J. Belcher; brother, B.L. Williams; sisters, Evelyn Berry and husband, David, Linda Masters, Nancy Collins and several step brothers and sisters.
