On the heels of a very successful five-day festival in Owensboro, KY, The Crabb Family spent today at the Kentucky state capitol with Governor Ernie Fletcher and the First Lady. Governor Fletcher proclaimed Tuesday, July 13, 2004 as Crabb Family day in the state of Kentucky in honor of the family's brand new release, Driven, which releases the same day. After reading the proclamation and a few pictures, the Governor invited the family to the Governor's mansion for lunch with him and the First Lady. Kelly, Adam, Aaron, Jason and others received a special tour of the capitol and the mansion. The Official Proclamation Reads As Follows: Proclamation by Ernie Fletcher, Governor of the commonwealth of Kentucky, to all to whom this presents shall come, Whereas: Members of The Crabb Family were born and raised in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and Whereas: The Crabb Family has recorded over 100 musical compositions written by Gerald Crabb, who was awarded BMI Songwriter of the Year and achieved fifteen #1 songs, and Whereas: The Crabb Family has traveled over one million miles sharing their music with everyone from small church auditoriums to major arenas throughout the United States, and Whereas: The Crabb Family hosts a five-day musical celebration each July in Owensboro, Kentucky, and Whereas: The Crabb Family has won four Dove Awards from voting members of the Gospel Music Association and are regular guests of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, and Now therefore I, Ernie Fletcher, Governor of the commonwealth of Kentucky, do hereby proclaim July 13th, 2004, as The Crabb Family Day Done at the Capitol, in the city of Frankfort, this 12th day of July in the year of our Lord, 2004, and in the 213th year of the commonwealth.
