Hi:
My son found your website and sent me a link. You have a great deal of information on your site. However, I do want to correct one piece of information. Mabel Fleming Tackett, my mother, is NOT the daughter of Gracie Fleming. She is the illegitimate daughter of George Fleming and Ida Fleming. Yours is the second site I have found that incorrectly lists my mother as the
daughter of George and Gracie. I just wanted to let everyone know the correct information.
Also, I have some photos on my website of Cas and Missouri Fleming, Ida Fleming, George Fleming, and many others. These photos can be copied from my website for anyone wishing to have them. I would also love to have email copies of any photos of these ancestors of mine, or links to any other websites with info on the above people. I also have a photo of Louise Kelly and John Jefferson Fleming on my website. For anyone with Tackett ancestors, I also have photos of Calvin and Mary Tackett, on my website.
Obituary: Can Martin Meade

Can Martin Meade, age 90, of Jackhorn, Kentucky passed from this life on May 26, 2017 at his residence in Jackhorn, Kentucky. He was born on March 13, 1927 in Letcher County, Kentucky to the late William Henry Meade and Martha Bentley Meade.
He worked hard and made a living for his family as a coal miner. He was a member of the Church of Christ for over forty years. He had a love for hunting, gardening and being outdoors.
He was preceded in death by six brothers; William Henry Meade (infant), Grover Meade, Quiller Meade, Chandis Meade, Buford Meade and Conley Meade; three sisters; Ruth Strange, Beulah Tackett, and Florida White.
Mr. Meade is survived by his loving wife of sixty-nine years, Hazel Fleming Meade and was wed on January 3, 1948 in Neon, Kentucky; one son; Linville (Gaye) Meade of Jackhorn, Kentucky, one brother; Rush Meade of Virgie, Kentucky. He is also survived by two grandchildren; Chris Meade and Mitchell Meade, five great grandchildren; Ashlea Meade, Alicia Meade, Walker Meade, Andrew Meade and Denzil Meade, one great-great grandchild; Leland Peterson and a host of family and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation for Mr. Meade will be held at the Carty Funeral Chapel of Neon on Sunday, May 28th and Monday, May 29th from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM each evening. Funeral services will be conducted from the Neon Chapel on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 1:00 PM with several of the Church of Christ Ministers officiating.
Burial will follow in the Haven of Rest Cemetery at Mayking, Kentucky.
