Obituary - Delza Adams: Born: September 3,
1926 Died: December 21, 1992 Reason: Cancer. Delza Adams, 66, Benham, died at
his home, on Monday, Dec. 21, 1992. He was a native of Letcher County, KY and
had been a local resident since 1957. He was a coal miner for 33 years. He
retired from International Harvester at Benham, KY. A veteran of World War 11,
he was a member of Benham Lodge #880, Fields Lodge #832, Harlan Council #91
R.&S.M., Benham Chapter #170, R.A.M. and Whitesburg Commandery #51 Knight
Templar. He was an elder of the Primitive Baptist Church for the past 35
years. Son of the late Andrew and Hattie Breeding Adams, he is survived by his
Wife, Evelyn Banks Adams, Benham, KY; six children, Rodney Adams, Cumberland,
KY; Vanessa Adams, Belinda Browning and Delbretta Adams, all of Benham, KY;
Paquita Shoupe, Harlan, KY; Gregory Adams, Hiram, KY; a sister, Garnett Web,
Jacksonville, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren. The funeral will be at 1 p.m.,
Thursday, at the Blair Chapel Church with Elders Glenn Cornett, Oscar Irvin,
Astor Banks and the Rev. John Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Peaceful
Acres Cemetery, Hiram, KY. Graveside Masonic services will be conducted.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Parker-Jones Funeral Home.
The body will be taken to the Blair Chapel Church at 1 p.m. Wednesday, where
visitation will be held until 9 p.m. Parker- Jones Funeral Home, Cumberland,
Ky., is in charge of arrangements. Graveside Masonic Services will be
conducted at the cemetery. Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Obituary - Orlena B. Banks died February 13,
2008 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital, Whitesburg, Letcher Co KY.
She was 99 years old. Born in Cornettsville, KY, she was a daughter of the
late John L. and Mattie Lee Morgan Day. She was the widow of Wilson Banks and
the mother of the late Elmo Banks, Jerry Banks, Bernard Banks, and Johnny
Banks. She was a member of the Dry Fork Old Regular Baptist Church. She
enjoyed gardening, canning, and going to church. Surviving are more than 100
descendants including three daughters, Evelyn Adams, Benham, KY; Mattie Hall
and husband Freddie, Whitesburg, KY; and Roshella Gray and husband Don,
Southgate, Mich.; two sons, Delzie Banks, Lynch, KY, and Norman Banks,
Whitesburg, KY; 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 40
great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held February 16, 2008 at Everidge
Funeral Home. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine, KY. Posted in the
