Obituary: Minnie Alice Day Pippin 1 Feb 1919 - 17 Jan 2000
Obituary - Minnie A. Pippin, 80. 2102 N. Fairfield Drive, Marion, IN, died at 6:04 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2000 in her residence. She was born in Cornettville, KY., to the late John L. and Mattie L. (Morgan) Day and had lived in the Marion, IN area most of her life.
She was a homemaker and was married to William J. Pippen, who died March 24, 1989.
She attended South Marion Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Mrs. Harmon) Dodson and Nyoka "Nikki" Durieux, both of Marion; a brother, George W. (Mayola) Day, Florida; a twin sister, Myrtle Caudill, Marion, IN, and four other sisters, Clarenda Moore and Lola (Mrs. Johnny) Hehr, both of Marion, IN, Ethel (Mrs. Roy) Griffith, Georgetown, KY., and Orlena Banks, Whitesburg, KY.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son, Delzie P. Barker; five brothers, Troy, James, Logan, Bill and Arthur Day; a sister, Evelyn Day; a grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Needham-Storey Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., with the Rev. Emery Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memoria Park cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Grant County Cancer Society.
