Mamie Butcher 1920-2008
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 26, 2008, 1 p.m. at the
Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Mamie Butcher, 88, of Van Lear, Ky., who
passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Paul B. Hall Medical Center in
Paintsville, Ky. Mrs. Butcher was born April 4, 1920 in Johnson County, Ky.,
daughter of the late Melvin and Ida Bowling Butcher. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are five brothers, Ira Butcher of Louisville, Ky.; Bernard Butcher of
Indiana, and Elmer, Grandville, and Everett Butcher, all of Van Lear; and two
sisters Maggie Moore and Virginia Triplett, both of Indiana. The service will be
officiated by Bernard Butcher, with burial in the Butcher Family Cemetery at Van
Lear, KY. Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of
Paintsville, KY.

Ira Butcher 1921-2008
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 26, 2008, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston
Funeral Home Chapel for Ira Butcher, 86, of Sitka, Ky., who passed away Friday,
July 25, 2008, at Kindred Hospital of Louisville, Ky. Mr. Butcher was born Sept.
28, 1921 in Johnson County, Ky., son of the late Melvin and Ida Bowling Butcher.
Surviving are four brothers, Elmer, Grandville, and Everett Butcher, all of Van
Lear, Ky., and Bernard Butcher of Indiana; and two sisters, Maggie Moore and
Virginia Triplett, both of Indiana. The service was officiated by Bernard
Butcher, with burial in the Butcher Family Cemetery at Van Lear.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of
Paintsville, Ky.
