Obituary of Roscoe Johnson,
age 86, of McRoberts, Kentucky, passed away early Saturday morning, January
20, 2007, at his home. Roscoe was born in Pike County, Kentucky, on March 2,
1920. He was tbe son of the late Kennis and Caldonia Johnson.
Roscoe was a member of the
Church of Christ for many years. He also had a great love for horses. During
his life he bought, sold, and traded many horses. He only loved two things
better than his horses. First, his Lord, then his family. In this life his
mother was his whole heart He was a retired coal miner and a member of the
United Mine Workers of America.
Roscoe married Louise Johnson
on August 10, 1940 in Pike County, Kentucky. They had one son, Willie M.
Johnson. Louise preceded him in death on July 1, 1994. Roscoe is survived by
a grandson, Mathew Greg Johnson, and a great-grandson, Levi T. Johnson.
On November 11, 1994. Roscoe
married Mary M. "Maggie" Smith in Letcher County, Kentucky. In addition to
Maggie, he is also survived by three step-sons, Gary, Jerry, and Garland;
four step-daughters, Rebecca, Mary Jo, Chesley, and Eva; thirteen
step-grandchildren and one step-greatgrandchild.
Roscoe was also preceded in
death by two brothers and a sister, Lonnie, Connie, and Evon. Two sisters,
Lessie Fleming and Lois Fleming, also survive him, in addition to several
nieces and nephews, including special niece, Inez Potter. He also leaves
behind many friends, including special friend, Alicia Smith.

March 2, 1920 - January 20, 2007. Funeral Services were at 11:00 A.M. Monday
January 22, 2007 at the Carty Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating: Chris
Fleming. Interment: Green Acres Cemetery Ermine, Kentucky. Pallbearers:
Sherd Caudill, Jr., Bob Deskins, Garland Smith, Daniel B. Johnson, Teddy
Fleming, Chad Fleming, Gary Fleming, and Chan Fleming. Honorary Pallbearers:
