Floyd County Times Obituary of Cornelius Stephens:
Cornelius Stephens, 53, of Brandy Keg, died September 21 at the Beaver Valley hospital, Martin. A former miner, he had been disabled the past 18 years.

Mr. Stephens was the son of the late Andy and Lizie Lafferty Stephens and was the husband of Mrs. Cora Lee Coburn Stephens, who survives.

He was a member of the Baptist Church.Survivors other than his widow, are four sons, Willam Andrew Stephens, of Cow Creek, Leonard Arthur Stephens, Wabash,Indiana, Clarence Donald and Charles Edward Stephens, both at home; three daughters, Mrs. Beulah Leckrone, of Prestonsburg, Mrs. Josephine Goble and Mrs. Lorraine Hamilton, both of Lancer; one brother, Robert Stephens, of Warsaw, Indiana, and nine sisters, Mrs. Ann Hall, Warsaw, Indiana, Mrs. Lula Hatfield, Prestonsburg, Mrs. Pearlie Burchett, Williamson, West Virginia, Mrs. Bossie Jewell, Hardy, Kentucky, Mrs. Martha Rose, Town Branch, Mrs. Rebecca Baker,Lancer, Mamie Stephens, Winona Lake, Indiana, Mary Belle Elliott, Elliott, Kentucky, and Willa Gertrude Davis, Indianapolis,Indiana.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning at 11 o'clock from the Irene Cole Memorial Baptist Church here, the pastor, the Rev. W. D. Jaggers, and the Rev. Ira McMillan officiating. Burial will be made in the family cemetery at Dwale under the direction of Floyd Funeral Home.
