Green "G" Fuller died in the mines at Carr Fork Coal Co, Vicco, KY at age 25. Our Mom, Ida Fuller Potter, and her siblings often spoke about this tragedy and believed it to be murder by a Goebel Combs. Goebel Combs was convicted of murder for the stabbing of their cousin, Corbett Smith. Green "G" Fuller was a very handsome and talented young man. He played music in the theater for the the silent films and did many other shows for various local festivities. Our mom told us that "G" was talented enough to be a professional musician. She said that he could play any musical instrument that he set his mind to play. He entertained locally and for all his friends and neighbors. Mother, Ida Fuller told us that he would not leave the area to go out in the world to try his hand at entertainment because he didn't want to leave his wife and family to travel around in effort to become a professional musician. 1. Hillard? Fuller b abt 1897 KY (died as infant)
2. William Riley Billy Fuller b 26 Sept 1899/1900 d 2 Jan 1975 Lexington, Fayette Co KY; buried Blue Grass Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum, Nicholasville, Jessamine Co KY. Findagrave 204965620.
At the age of 18 years, William worked as a rodman at the Consolidation Coal Co. Jenkins, KY; listed as 18 years of age and lists his birthday as 26 Sept 1899 on his WW1 draft registration of 12 Sept, 1918 in Whitesburg, KY. His description is listed as short in height, medium build, blue eyes, and brown hair.
He lists his nearest relative as Green Fuller, father, Wheelwright, Floyd Co KY. (I recall he never married and he told my mom, Ida Fuller Potter that it was because his parents fought so much it turned him against marriage). I personally have not heard of fighting between my grandmother and grandfather, so he must have been speaking of his mother, Margaret Amburgey and Green Fuller.
William (mom called him Billy) was in the US Army at about age 43. He enlisted 16 Jul 1942 during WWII and was discharged 20 May 1943. His WW1 draft registration was signed 12 Sept, 1918 and stated to send mail to Berea College, Berea KY. On William's WW2 draft registration card, his birthday is listed as 26 Sept 1900 Pinetop, KY.
He's listed as 5'4" tall and weight as 138 pounds, so you can see that he was a very small man. At the time of his draft registration for WWII on 16 Feb., 1942 in Lexington, Fayette Co KY, he was living in Lexington, Ky. He was working for W.E. Hutton & Co in Lexington, KY. He was listed as race: white; eyes: blue; hair: brown; complexion: dark brown.
William Riley Fuller's social security record lists his birthdate as 26 Sept 1899, but his grave marker lists his birth year as 1900, so I don't know which is correct. The census record for 1900 lists him as 8 months old, but the transcriber wrote that he was 21 in that census for some unknown reason. It's very clear to me that it states 8/12 or 8 months old.

I. David Lunsford b abt 1950 d abt 2015 FL; buried Nicholasville KY. David was in the Vietnam War and was never the same afterwards. He had several children with whom he never wanted to spend time. He regretted that decision in his old age and needless to say his children wanted little to do with him when he did decide to finally contact them. David had flaming red hair and was considered short in stature, but was also in spite of his stature considered attractive to many women. He was popular with the women, but wasn't the type to settle down with one.
Olga Bowen Lunsford m. 9 Apr 1955 Versailles, Woodford Co KY to (3) Arthur Wilson Huff b 1913 Madison Co KY; s/o Wilson Huff and Nancy Huff. Olga called Arthur Wilson Huff by his last name, "Huff". This marriage is listed on the marriage license as his first marriage. He is listed as single. She is listed as divorced and used the last name of Lunsford. (no children in her marriage to Huff).
ii. James Edward Ed Bowen b 12 Feb 1921 Letcher Co KY d 20 Jan 1975; age 53; buried Blue Grass Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum, Nicholasville, Jessamine Co KY; (to my knowledge, Ed never married). James Edward Ed Bowen served his country as a Private in the US Marine Corps. He worked as a repairman for home appliances and air conditioners. I don't know of any marriage for Ed.

Jackie Dison was 22, single at the time of their marriage. Charlotte Comer was 23, single at the time of their marriage. They were married by minister, C.P. Conley of the Church of God Church.
ii. Betty Joe Dison b abt 1935 KY
iii. Earnestine Dison b abt 1937 Perry Co KY; m. 20 Mar 1957 Norton VA to Howard R Kirkwood b 1934; s/o Eugene C Kirkwood and Margaret E Johnson. Occupation of Howard R Kirkwood listed on marriage certificate as US Navy. At the time of their marriage, he was age 23 and she was age 20. Child of Howard R Kirkwood and Earnestine Dison; I. Debbi Kirkwood.
Ada is listed in the 1953 Lexington Kentucky (Fayette County) City Directory as follows: Fuller, Ada psychiatric aide Eastern State Hosp 4522 W 3d apt 5 -- Apartments 155 1/2 N Limestone. Ada did work at Eastern State Asylum for many years and in her latter years, she worked in a nursing home. The last time I saw Ada Fuller was in Lexington, Kentucky where she lived alone in a small apartment there. At that time, she expressed concern that her landlord was trying to kill her.

More About Leona Smith Fuller
Mammaw Leona Fuller was an extraordinary woman. She raised her own food and made very nice clothes for her family and for other families. She made featherbeds and the ticking. She was the best cook ever and made delicious meals for her large family and boarders, as well. She was the hardest working woman I've ever known and the happiest. My mammaw did everything she could to support her family, including selling shine. Mammaw also ran a boarding house where she fed and housed workers that built the roads, bridges, railroads and that worked in the mines.
She lived in a well kept home upon a hill. Her front porch had a swing on each end and large steps leading up to the porch. Behind her house was her garden, and her animals; cows, chickens, geese and pigs, her fruit trees, along a path behind her house was her ice cold spring, and beside her house was her dug out cellar for keeping her potatoes and other things over the winter.
She canned many things and under her front porch was a large storage room full of shelves for her canned foods which she always kept full of delicious canned items. Mammaw always had a delicious table set. One of my favorite things was her home made butter. I've never found any to compare with hers. The color of the butter was white and it was sweet and creamy. Mammaw served that butter with her home made biscuits and cornbread at every meal. That was wonderful eating.
She entertained us all by telling us great funny stories and tales; great scary stories, in particular one I recall was "The Halloween Man" which she would sing complete with all the scary gestures; she would read coffee grounds in the bottom of teacups and she sang songs as she played music on her hand made dulcimer. I just loved her very much and I've never met another person like her. When we were at her home, we would sit out on the porch in the good country air, watch the lightening bugs, and listen to stories and tales while the night sounds of the beautiful mountains enveloped us.
Mammaw was a great woman and I can't tell you how much we miss her. Mart Potter died in 1949 and Mammaw died in 1966. Mart is buried in the Potter Family Cemetery in Payne Gap KY. Our Mammaw is buried in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Isom, KY.
